Family Nurse Practitioner with 44 years of progressive nursing experience in Adult/Gerontology, Primary care, Urgent care, emergency, critical care, neurology, and Case management. Worked also as a care coordinator Hospital based with Internal Medicine Teams as a discharge planner. As a Family Nurse Practitioner I have vast experience in diagnosing, managing, and treating various disease processes and educating patients on how to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The decision to start this business came after changes to my current care model that would eliminate telemedicine access. I wanted to continue managing patients by Video platform, but by my own terms and standards of care.
So I am a patient as well. There are times I need urgent care but could not take off work to go to a center due to the hours. The emergency department was the only choice as I was miserable with an Ear problem. She looked in my ear. Was suppose to have an ear irrigation but never was done. I waited 6 hours for the Nurse Practitioner to order me sinus x-rays which were done 4 hours after I got there. Never irrigated my ears. Discharged me with ENT consult and an antibiotic for DX with Chronic Sinusitis ( which) I already knew I had. I decided hey I'm an NP so I went home used OTC Debrox the 4 day treatment, and antihistamine Loratadine. I had so much relief. The $3000 or more I paid for a simple diagnosis. If I knew about Telehealth could have saved me thousands of dollars.
